BIFMA

Business and Institutional Furniture Producers Group

BIFMA’s level is the commercial furniture industry’s multi-attribute sustainability standard and third-party certification scheme. The level was created by BIFMA to provide an open and holistic method of analyzing and sharing the environmental and social implications of furniture items in the built environment. Level considers a company’s social behaviors, energy use, material choices, human and ecological health, and a variety of other factors to determine how sustainable a product is from many viewpoints.

The Business and Institutional Furniture Producers Group (BIFMA) is a non-profit trade association representing business and institutional furniture manufacturers. BIFMA’s mission has been to fund the creation and refinement of current and future standards, to educate the public about their relevance and use, and to transform the required complexity into more readily understood and executed formats since 1973. We also keep tabs on the industry’s situation, function as a platform for member engagement and cooperation, connect with international peers, and lobby for regulatory circumstances that promote value and innovation.
